We were fortunate to have helped develop the original retail packaging for The True Honey Co. with Marx Design and were honoured to be asked again to lend a hand with the ambitious and high-level thinking for this latest release: The Rare Harvest Limited Edition Mānuka Honey packaging.
The Marx team developed the concepts for the form and handed over directional sketches for us to give feedback on, refine and resolve the functionality. The only guideline on the form came from the client, who wanted some cohesion with their existing box. This was resolved in the rapid prototyping & concepting stage. Once we were into our work, we had a dynamic dialogue of progress and refinement with Marx, then from the cutting mat - started to bring the idea to life. Inspired by the Mānuka flower bloom, each ‘petal’ magnetically locks together to offer an unrivalled ‘unboxing’ experience, also serving as a display unit for the precious honey jar and bespoke honey drizzler.
This is a luxury item so we all took great care in choosing the materials, stocks and finishes so every detail exceeded expectations. We needed to tap into our joint community of talented experts to achieve this and engaged The Book Binding Press to help us finalise and create the outer body/structure, ready for testing, sign off and production.
